No change for long a long. :-(

Rejected with a 1500/1600? Top 15%? I suppose you didn’t have any ECs???

That’s ridiculous Andy09. I got in with a 1400/1600, top 13 %. I guess it all came down to essays and EC’s.

One should keep in mind that not all information posted on CC are true facts! People do gossip and exaggerate a lot. So take them with a grain of salt.

Daughter was CAPped, but was expecting it.

UT is not dumb or unfair. They really don’t have many choices past the top 10%ers. They look at the whole application, not just the stats.

Please. Don’t sound so excited chaos…

Maybe you did horrible on writing andy? Only explanation unless you had no ec

What are y’all doing that got CAP’d?
Doing CAP, A&M, or other?

yeah i guess so…i had a 600 on writing for a 2100 composite
i had decent EC’s but what i think killed me was my meager 70 volunteer hours

oh and goldTX, while i do not take offense at your post, since it may not even be directed at me, I , or anyone else for that matter would have no reason to exaggerate or falsify information on this site, although I’m sure some people do. I come here for advice and falsifying information would undermine that purpose. So believe what you will but 1500 non top 10%=rejection at UT austin

I was actually reacting to the other post (500/500/800). And how could you finish a decent essay in 10 minutes? I consider myself a pretty fast typist but can hardly type 400-500 words in 10 minutes!

Ok nvm…2100 is really good. I guess ut screwed u over

500/500/800 seem kinda rounded…
And I feel like the 10 minutes may be exaggerated.

That football player is lying. He’s freaking ASIAN!!! xD

I’d rather do CAP than go to A&M.
OOS is a possibility.

What’s wrong with A&M?

goldTX-k just making sure ;)

Texas A&M isn’t bad-in fact its a top 25 public school in the nation according to the USNWR. However, some people are so immersed in the UT culture, by family attendance or their personal liberalism that UT is their only option. Not that that is wrong, but it is the opinion of several die-hard longhorns and is arguably justified.

But don’t get me wrong, if you are not that into the Longhorn-Aggie rivalry, A&M is just as good an option as UT

I’d be okay going to A&M now since UT put me on their wait list… but my family doesn’t seem to approve (My parents didn’t even go there… but my only brother is there now) and it’s kind of annoying. My brother practically made me cry today telling me I would be getting an inferior education by going to A&M for Engineering…

Sweet, in to Turing Scholars!!!

1540(800M,740V,740W)
Top 11-12%
Black female
Lots of comp sci ECs though and astrophysics research

educatemeplese- you will receive a very good engineering degree from A&M. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Also, the Aggie network is one of the best in the nation
i am not condescending UT cuz i didn’t get in; Both schools are well reputed all over the nation

educatemeplease, I agree with Andy, even though I went to engineering school at UT. Your brother is just being a brother! Work hard and learn a lot, and you’ll do very well.

(Sometimes I feel sorry for my 10-year-old - she has TWO big brothers!)
