So this is more for the non-traditional students out there: have you relocated and established a new residency for the sake of achieving in-state tuition? I have family in a couple different states, and those state’s flagship schools are more affordable to me than my current one (IL). Seems like a smart idea to move if it saves nearly $40k over the course of my education. But I also wonder, if I move and become a resident, what is the point of applying to OOS schools from THERE? Why move at all, unless I consider my <em>new</em> state-of-residence schools safeties? Thoughts, opinions welcome!
