Non-traditional student w/ great grades...CGS or CAS?

I've been planning on applying to Penn as a CGS student, but just recently considered the notion that I might have a shot of getting into CAS. I took 3 years off from school after failing/dropping out of community college in '03, so I'm def. a non-traditional student. That said, by next year I'll have an A.A. (60+ credits) with just below a 4.0. While I don't have a bunch of the usual EC's, I am proud of the work I did prior to returning to school, and could provide an excellant essay. Recommendations will be excellant as well. Do I have a solid shot at CAS (applying ED), at least a good enough one to warrant applying there over CGS (which sounds like a lock)?

Thanks for the help.

P.S. my h.s. grades and SAT's are far from great...will this be a big deal? Are SAT's even required from someone who graduated h.s. in 2001? Thanks again.

you can't apply ED as a transfer to penn.

even though you have stellar grades at your cc, penn cas will make a decision based on your hs grades and sat scores. they like to see that your grades and sat's are up to par with freshmen admits, no matter how long ago you attended hs.

also, if you do not get accpeted to cas, you must wait a full year to apply again, either to cgs or cas. also, most accepted transfer students tend not to be from cc's.

not sure if you'd really want to be entering cas with students who will graduate from hs in 2008...

cgs, on the other hand, is aimed at non-traditional students.
