A non-transferable remedial course (trigonometry) seems to be missing from my UC app due to an error on my part. Does this mistake put me at risk of being rescinded? My main concern is with the provisional contract for all of the UCs that state any inconsistencies could be grounds for being rescinded.
(I have just emailed the campuses I’m interested in but would still appreciate some feedback)
Since it is a non-UC transferable course and you have stated you contacted admissions, you should be fine. They do not like surprises once they receive your final transcript so keep a copy of the email notification and any documentation you receive back from UCLA admission just in case.
I got a response back saying that a non-transferable course shouldn’t (but not will not) affect my admission status. Would I need to keep this correspondence just in case I have to appeal down the line? Or is it possible for me to send a copy of this email along with my official transcript? I noticed that my community college’s transcript service allows me to “provide an attachment”, though I don’t exactly know what that entails.
I see, thank you for the feedback. I just saw this paragraph in a Ms. Sun article as well for anyone in a similar situation(UC Transfer Admission Update | Ask Ms. Sun):
“Discrepancies in UC-transferable coursework are grounds for admission cancellation. While you are not required to report courses that are not UC-transferable, reporting them will help UCs see your enrollment pattern (full-time vs. part-time).”
Really hoping that things works out, it would be devastating to lose a year over such a silly mistake.
Oh right, I forgot to mention this: I was requested to provide my unofficial transcript in mid-February by UCOP (I TAG’d to UCR, and they release decisions in March). So wouldn’t that mean the UCs I applied to are already aware of the non-transferable course? After all, the email I received had this line at the bottom:
“Please note: This communication and your response may be shared and reviewed by the following campuses to which you may have applied: Berkeley, Davis, Irvine, Los Angeles, Merced, Riverside, Santa Barbara, San Diego and Santa Cruz.”
