Non-URM likely letters (CAS)

Thanks MSMDAD :)

For the record, I have
SAT I : 2020
ACT : 31
GPA : 4.5w 3.99uw 3/340
I'm Hispanic--

On another thread someone said that if you were accepted and a URM, they would send a likely letter...if not, then the "R" word.....

Any truth to this? I was thinking that I'm sure there are a lot of URMs that get accepted without likely letters...

jgonzo, No creas eso por un segundo! I seriously doubt that all accepted URMs received the likely and/or scholarship letters. Your stats are impressive, BTW.

muchas gracias msmdad, me has ayudado mucho!

So yeah, I'm not a native speaker, but I've taken Spanish IV! lol

I'm really hoping for Cornell. I REALLY want to go there :)

I got a Tanner/Dean letter today, and I'm a caucasian male from Tennessee. (Math major)

SAT I: 740 M 740 CR 800 W
SAT II: 790 Physics 750 Math II 750 Biology
GPA: 3.97 UW

juniorinhs, thanks for the kind words.

jgonzo220, I am no expert on this, but really doubt that only URM's who do not receive the likely letter, will be rejected. I would think that likely letters are for the best students in different categories.

acraig, thanks for putting your major down. That might be helpful in evaluating the likely letters.

but what I am confused about is..
Is "nomination" actually counted as I am for sure in this program thing or do you have to enroll and apply again?
So, is this nomination a hook for students to have more interest in the program?
