Do I need to submit a verification worksheet for my noncustodial parent too?

Did your school select you for verification of the FAFSA? The FAFSA does not require any non-custodial parent information. If that is the case, you do not have to send info about the NCP.

If your school is a Profile school or used a school financial aid form that included NCP financial information (income and assets), you need to call the school and ask them what THEY want you to send. Many Profile schools require NCP info. Some do not. Call the school. They will tell you what to send.

In any event…your school should be informing you that they want information sent to them. If you were starred for verification when you submitted your FAFSA, wait until you hear from EACH SCHOOL to find out what to send to them. If you want more info…call or email EACH school.

Thanks for the help! I was asking because my brother was flagged for verification from Duke- so I was checking If I needed to file anymore forms. But I guess not! Nothing about verification has been sent to me by anyone.

You might want to post your question on the financial aid and scholarship section of this forum. There are some finaid folks who regularly post there. I do believe that they said that the schools will request what they want…BUT to be sure…post there.

Or have your brother contact Duke. They’ll tell him.

Alright! thanks… It seems that I dont need the verification sheet because none of my schools have contacted me about it.

wait- FAFSA says my application was selected for verification… so do I wait for the schools to contact me? Should I fill out the form and send it in the IDOC packet and then to Columbia in their packet?

Yes, wait for the school to contact you. Only submit the specific forms for the IDOC that your college requires – and use the college web site as your guide on that. The worst thing that can/will happen is that the college may contact you later on for more information or documentation – but as long as you are submitting what you have been specifically asked for by the application deadline, you will be fine.
