Noncustodial parent uncoorperative

Hi, I recently made a post about the 2006 tax returns. I was able to contact my dad and ask him to provide his 2006 tax returns by faxing them to me since he is overseas. However, he is not willing to give them to me. I know he will not directly mail them to the schools either. I have filed everything (fafsa, css, etc.) and all I need now is my dad's 2006 tax returns which he will not provide. What can I do? I emailed all my schools and am currently waiting for their response. I'm hoping someone here knows what would generally happen with an uncooperative noncustodial parent?

Thanks!

My D is going through the same thing. It is a matter of writing a letter to the adcom at each school explaining the situation. It would help if both you and your mother could sign it. Just type one up, make some copies, sign them, and mail them to the schools. Adcoms understand that sometimes there are extenuating circumstances like this, especially with parents residing in other countries who cannot be required (enforced) by a U.S. court to provide the documents.

Just say they're dead. My father was deported to Jamaica-it's probably true in his case.
