Nonexistent Minority

Evening all. When college application time comes, would it be to my benefit to include my mother's heritage as an Amerindian Guyanese from South America? What about my position as a resident of West Virginia? In all honesty, I was going to write down "Amerindian Guyanese Appalachian American" on my application. Would this be overkill? I await for responses and thank everyone in advance.

Ok, so you're a good example for MY question: would he qualify for a minority scholarship? Because I thought minority scholarships only went to african-americans, native americans, and hispanics...

I'm Moroccan...so could I qualify?

Put down however you identify yourself. I always marked down "white" haphazardly on tests, but then I realized I really wasn't, being 1/8 Mexican and 1/8 Cherokee. So what am I? Italian Mexican Cherokee Prusian American? LOL. Those stupid boxes annoy me. Write it all down I say. It's something that's unique about you for sure.

Unless you are 100% African American or 100% Hispanic or 100% American Indian, the Adcoms don't really care. You can put down whatever you want, it doesn't matter.
