Hi! I'm currently finishing up my last few GE and major requirements at a Cali community college and submitting a few applications for Spring admission. But - here's the thing. I tested out of high school in my junior year back in '06, went to college for awhile, dropped out, worked in restaurant kitchens for a few years, and finally decided to go back to school back in 2011. I never took the SATs nor the ACT, and after having spoken with a few counselors, decided it wasn't worth the time or the effort (or the $$$) to take them now.

I'm a History major, and my two lowest grades, C's, have both been in non-major specific classes - everything else has been mostly A's with a scattering of B's, and I'm two classes away from an AA - Transfer Degree in History. While I don't HAVE to transfer into Spring semester, I would like to, as I don't want to lose my forward momentum. However, because most of my top picks have open Spring admissions for upper division transfers, I'm hoping that won't be an issue. I'm also LGBTQ, and a beachgoer to the core, so I'm hoping to stick with coastal schools in more gay-friendly areas.

Prospective schools:
Cal State Monterey Bay (this is my top pick, just submitted the application yesterday)
Humboldt State
Cal State Channel Islands

Fall Admission Back-Ups:
Cal Poly San Luis
UC Santa Cruz

Current Cumulative GPA: 3.51 (it WAS 3.8 until I had to take Bio and Algebra :( )
Degrees: In-Progress AA-Transfer Degree - History

Anyway, because I didn't go about my education the "right" or "normal" way, I guess I'm a little nervous. Any insight or tips are most appreciated.
