so to transfer to letters and science, i just need to take the prerequisites on assist.org and the igetc courses right? and the prereqs cannot be used for igetc fulfillment right?

The prereqs can be used for IGETC fulfillment, as long as those prereqs are included on the IGETC sheet. For example, a prereq for me (applied as a Psych major to UCLA) is Psych 100. This can serve as fulfilling both one class on the IGETC (social science part) and serve as one of the prereqs I need to have done. Therefore, prereqs CAN be used for IGETC fulfillment.

Yes, take the prerequisites, fulfill IGETC, and have 60 units done. If you do that, you’re good to go to transfer.

wow! are you serious? looks like i gotta drop some classes now!! dam i am taking useless classes now and i dont know if i can get into other classes dam

YES! Quickly drop the unnecessary ones and add ones that can further you towards completion of IGETC/prereqs. The sooner you do this, the sooner you can get into the classes that can actually help you. I HIGHLY recommend meeting with a counselor, and asking them to go over everything with you after you tell them your goals (where you want to go and what classes you actually need to take).

when i talked to a drop in counsoler and she warned me about a possible redundant class, i told her it was a prerequisite and so it didn’t count for igetc and she just said ok haha.

whether you can use a prerequisite to meet igetc (or breadth requirements) may depend on your major and the college you’re applying to…or at least haas at cal doesn’t let you use prereqs for breadth requirements…though they don’t accept igetc…

most colleges and majors do allow u to use major pre-reqs to satify igetc requirements
