I didn't realise I had to get in the secondary school form by today. My guidance counselor mailed my transcript but not the secondary school form.

I wrote a brilliant essay. I in fact, combined both topics 2 and 4. Are my chances practically dead?

Your chances are fine. They won't kill you for it. Just have your counselor send it out ASAP.

Don't worry about it. Most colleges are pretty lenient for this stuff anyway. If I remember correctly, Chicago doesn't even look at the apps until the mid-year report comes in.

that could be true.

Yeah, but I missed a deadline.

I didn't know there was a deadline for the secondary school form! :(

I'll try to reassure myself, though.

It's fine. The deadlines aren't really for recommendations or school forms. Just send it in when you can. They're going to be getting mountains of mail; they probably won't even notice.

Okay. So it's postmarked Jan 3 they won't automatically reject me?

No way! My teachers were way late in sending in stuff. Didn't hurt me at all.

Just think about it-- stuff is probably flooding into the office at 200 miles per hour, from all over the country and all over the planet... it's probably going to take them a week or two before they even notice that anything is missing. They have to have some means of converting your stuff to an electronic file, and that's going to take some time, etc....

I realize I repeat corranged's post.

Okay, I feel much better now, especially after reading this The Uncommon Application :: How Late Can I Apply?.

Now I feel silly that I said I merged topics 2 and 4 -- I actually wrote a single essay that I could use for either 1 or 4. :D

Thanks for the reassurance!

Hey, Baker Island apps were due just over an hour ago...no worries!

"Hey, Baker Island apps were due just over an hour ago...no worries!"

wait, what?! isn't it still 6:30ish PM Jan. 2 on Baker Island right now?
