That's enough reason to prefer socal...hehe

(just kidding all you...umm..."england-lovers" out there)

What I meant was if international high society thought SF was classy, then it probably is. Even we peons think it's classy (at least parts of it).

Um, another perspective from England-lovers, if they may be so called (anecdotal evidence btw). Many ppl in New Zealand that I've talked to who have visited both L.A. and S.F. unanimously say that they much prefer S.F., citing that L.A. is polluted and a patchy work of random buildings.
Not that I have the same opinions about L.A.; however if you put everything on a scale, it's pretty hard to beat NorCal :D (S.F. and surroundings, bay, weather, Silicon Valley, Stanford University)

I am a NorCal person all the way, but in all fairness to SoCal -
The Santa Barbara area is absolutely beautiful with lots of character and charm.
And then much of NorCal is like that.

^ ^ ^
A lot of people consider Santa Barbara to be the southernmost tip of NorCal.

Anyway, please add my vote for NorCal. I have to defend my homeland, after all.

Although I will concede that San Diego is fabulous. In fact, it's probably the only part of SoCal I really enjoy.

So that's 10-5 in favor of NorCal. Anyone else voting SoCal?

10-6 NorCal-SoCal :(

I'm with CautiousPessimism: East Coast easily beats both SoCal and NorCal.
After all, we do have Princeton, so there :)

(but if I had to pick, I'd say Norcal)

11-6 Norcal/Socal.

I dunno, I like the west coast a lot. I wouldn't put it at "easily beats."

Let's not forget that the West Coast does not only pertain to California but also Oregon, Washington, Nevada, etc. There are some excellent cities within all of these states.

I agree with quirkily, the East Coast couldn't easily beat the West Coast. The West Coast is hard to beat. :D

Yeah, but which coast will you be on next September? :)

I'm from Southern California, and it rocks :p

bentley: amen

11-7.....:(

Nor-Cal PWNS s0-cal!!!!
