NorCal universities for computer science?

I am currently attending a southern California community college with a focus on computer science; however, I'm looking for a change of face. I want to stay instate for the low tuition but I still want to go to a school with at least a somewhat prestigious computer science program. Of course, one can't go wrong with Stanford or Berkeley, but I don't have the money nor the smarts for a substantial scholarship. Any help appreciated.

Davis is probably the ‘best’ if you can get in…

Santa Cruz is probably also worth a look.

SJSU puts you in the middle of the Silicon Valley. You can’t go wrong there. It is certainly worth a visit. It is somewhat competitive, here’s some info on required GPA by major.

Chico, good program and a great college town. It’s fairly cheap to live in the area and real companies recruit on-campus.

Sac State, also a good program in a more urban environment. There are technolgy companies in the Sac area so, internships and post degree jobs are available.

Easy Bay, I don’t know much about their CS program but, they are surrounded by major tech companies. The cost of living is high. Same for SF State.

I’d apply to a bunch of campuses and see where you get in.

Cal Poly SLO isn’t exactly No. Cal. but they have a great CS program. And it does have a different vibe than So Cal.
