NorCal vs. SoCal

^ Ugh, I know! Evan, have you been to Lolita’s? Best. Carne. Asada. Fries. Ever. And California burritos. Hahaha.

NorCal:

-Better weather
-Nicer people
-More cultured socio-environment
-Better weather
-Prettier surroundings
-More socially liberal society
-Better weather

I feel no love for SoCal :(

where are my socal people?

@theregoesevan: they sell carne asada fries at Las Vegas Tacqueria, they have several around the bay area.

Southern California. Sun. Pretty People. Mexican Food. Sun. Awesome Schools. Sun.

FTW!

nah, norcal wins by miles.

@theregoesevan

Denial is the first step towards acceptance, the Norcal lovers will eventually learn.

I love that this thread is posted during the first season Giants v. Dodgers series. Giant’s got it this afternoon with lincecum pitching. GOOOO GIANTS!

Traffic in LA sucks balls. Summers are waaaaaay too hot. Like you don’t even want to go outside hot. People think it’s great weather, yea maybe for a week or two when your on vacation, but three months of burning heat is not fun. Also, people are a bit contrived, predictable, gossipy, obsessed with stars. The good thing about down here are the Dodgers, Lakers, Beaches, Women, and Mexico proximity.

As for Norcal, I don’t know I’ve never lived there but I would assume its not much different from SoCal on the traffic front, at least in SF. I hate the giants, so…but I like the 49ers, that’s good I guess, too bad I don’t like football that much.

dude, you realize that socal also includes places like newport beach, huntington beach, santa barbara, and san diego.

Summers are GENERALLY hotter in norcal and the winters are colder.
weather should NOT be an argument, heck, isn’t SD generally considered to have the best weather in the world?

^ So true! Yeah, it’s hot down in SD, but the average in August is a little over 75 degrees. And even if it DOES get hot, we have them beaches. It’s not quite the same as swimming pools.

this is where I live
[Costa Mesa, California - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](<a href=“Costa Mesa, California - Wikipedia”>Costa Mesa, California - Wikipedia)

yearly average high: 68F
yearly average low: 56F

average high in the summer: 72
average low in the winter: 50

the weather’s pretty unbearable at times though, I remember one time I actually felt like I needed to wear a sweater during the winter

the .4" of rain each month is also pretty bad

San Diego, America’s Finest City.

That’s whats up. Best weather in the the country.

Technically I shouldn’t be putting anything here cuz I’ve only been living in california for not such a long time buuuut-
I’d say (without even going to norcal) that, IF rumor is true, it seems like it’d be better up there because

A) Rumor has it that people, as a whole (not that everybody is), are much more down to earth and less egocentric–I had HUGE issues adjusting to this aspect of LA culture from PA and still do hahaha.

B) Less flashy

C) Better public transport hells yeah

D) I don’t know? Redwoods/Sequoia! I’ve always wanted to see them

But then there’s san diego, and it seems very chill and people seem very nice/down to earth there haha

I must say, folks. Compelling stuff. Oh, hell. At least we’re all in California, right?

^
hahahah yes! That is exactly what I mentioned in my OP!..even thought I think NorCal is better I do think SD is pretty bomb ;)…Cali FTW!

I can’t stand SF’s weather, it’s so glooooomy and cold. Biggest reason why I think i would kill myself if i get into Berkeley.

@girlyshout

The weather in the Bay Area is actually really nice most of the year…and I for one like the subtle variation of weather…you could literally have a bright sunny day followed by a rainy day followed by a breezy day…it’s the unpredictability that I love! Irvine is like 75 degrees sunshine all year it seems like…where’s the fun in that?!

I tend to agree with the California argument. Up north or down south, it’s still California. I thank god every day that I wasn’t born in butt f u c k middle America. I’m so the opposite of the majority of Americans, therefore I don’t see myself living anywhere but the East or West coast. California, however, is the greatest state to live in by far. I could care less about economic problems and politics, that’s all temporal. This is just a really great state, full of culture and beautiful landscape. I actually feel spoiled that I grew up here, and I feel sorry for those who are not on either coast.

@Vintij- ha ha ha! I know. Here is what I see on a map: West Coast… Chicago… East Coast.

That’s all. :D
