Hi. How many classes per semester is considered “normal?” The registrar says the normal course load is 15 credit hours per semester at 3 hours per class = 5. This seems high to me, as 4 classes per semester is a normal load at most colleges. Am I reading this correctly? I’d love to hear the perspective of a current student. Thanks!
Yes that’s normal. You can take less or more. It depends on what you’d like to do.
5 is very normal for an average student at SMU. Some do take 18-21 hours and some take 12.
