Normal Course load

What is a normal course load for a college on semesters? The college I'm going to is 4, but that seems low.

i took 4 one semester, 6 for about 4 or 5 semesters, and 5 the rest

4, i would say, is the norm. you can take more, though.

yeah.. i would think at most schools if you took 4/semester it would take 5 years to graduate... as thats (typically) 12 credits/semester or 24/year.. which means it would take 5 years to get 120.

4 or 5 courses is average, typically differing by semester.

course load means little without some sort of hours figure behind it.

I mean, while I was in undergrad I would usually take 4 or 5 and that would be about 14 hours (because science courses with lab are 4 hours), but I had a friend who was a music education major who was taking 9 or 10 classes but only had 13 hours because most were 1 or 2 hour courses.

5 is the average for me. I had a couple of semesters where I would take 6 and next semester I am only taking 4 since one will require a ton of extra time (senior project). Depends on what you are taking.
