Normal Pre-Med Program or 7/8 Year Medical Program?

Hi there,
I am currently a junior in high school and I was wondering which people recommend for me. I haven’t taken the ACT yet, but I got a 28 on a practice ACT my high school provided, and I know I can get up to a 31, maybe even a 32 with studying. I currently have a GPA of about 3.75 and I have a work published by the Library of Congress. I am going to apply for NHS this year, as well. I know I want to go into medicine for my future, but I don’t know which road I want to take. If I could get people that have taken one of these ways to give me advice, I would appreciate it. Also, which programs could I do based on what I have from above, like which colleges/7 year programs could I get into. And one more thing, should I do a 6,7, or 8 year program if I decide to go that way. Thanks for your help.

As far as I know, this isn’t a problem you’ll have - BS/MD programs are incredibly selective and aren’t an option in most cases.
Don’t focus on those but rather prepare your admission to college.
You want a strong background, preferably with high grades and scores in AP calc, AP Bio, and AP chem.
The college should be collaborative, with lots of resources. You should be in the top25% for your stats (check the CDS).

MYOS is right, these progrsms are extremely competitive and need top stats, rigor, and a solid record of involvement with healthcare delivery, often hands on. What have you learned about them? Applying to a regular 4 year college buys you time to test this interest and solidify your record. That includes activities.
