I received an email from Smith today saying that ED1 decision letter will be mailed on 11th Dec. Does this mean that we will know whether we are accepted or not on 11th Dec? So early? I thought normally schools will not release results until 15th Dec.

Anyone knows when does Smith ED1 result come out normally?

I think now they post the acceptance results online on bannerweb (you should have received a password and login for this) normally they post the results on the same day they send out the letters. Financial aid is not posted online though, you have to wait for your letter to arrive. Depending on where you live, it may take a few days to get your letter so you may not receive it on the 11th but that’s when it’s going out I guess.

Thank you for your kind reply!
May I ask approximately when am I supposed to receive the password and login for bannerweb? Is it much after the ED deadline? (I haven’t gotten it.

Last year my daughter received a password by e-mail after the ED1 deadline had passed which I believe isn’t until later in Nov? I think it may have been different from her banner web password. When she logged in she saw an e-card telling her she was accepted. I believe it was at least a week maybe more before we got the financial aid info however.
Ironically she was supposed to be able to log in I think around 4:00pm but when she tried the system was down for maintenance and updating and she was not able to log on till about 10:30 at night. It made for a stressful afternoon!

I think they give you a bannerweb login and password when they start receiving stuff from you (it takes a couple of weeks though), that way you can track what they have and have not received. They send the bannerweb info via snail mail.

You can call the office and ask them to find out when they’re sending out the log-ins, don’t panic if you haven’t got one yet, I think it’s true that they usually send them out closer to the deadline. But maybe just call and check.

To Hailun,
oh, i think it’s because I sent in an email to ask them whether my stuff had arrived.

To overwhelmedma, McPucks1357, SmithieandProud,
Thank you all! really appreciate your help. I think now I shall wait for their email/snail mail. They said all my necessary materials have safely arrived:)

did anyone got the ED1 result out day? and do we also need to apply our first trimester’s senior grade which i saw we don’t need it on Smith websit, but i asked school, the school said yes

The ED1 results won’t be available for several more weeks, the deadline only just passed on Sunday and it takes time for the office to read all of the applications. If you are accepted or waitlisted you will need to send in your mid-year grades when they become available as Smith will continue to monitor your high school grades even after they accept you, but if your grades are not available by the application deadline then they aren’t required as part of the application. However, if your school says to send them, it won’t hurt.
