So...could anybody tell me what the advantages and disadvantages of living on North Campus vs. South Campus are...I will probably be a freshman at UNC next year and may have an apparently fairly rare opportunity to live on North Campus, and was wondering what the differences were...

North = Closer to classes.

I heard that the South Campus is more freshman orientated…

North Campus
- closer to classes
- in general, nicer residence halls

South Campus
- larger % of first-year students
- in general, more social/loud

Noisey vs. Less noisey
Freshmen vs. Upper classmen
Far form classes vs. Close to classes
Farther from town vs. Close to town
Far from library vs. close to library
close to Dean dome vs. Far from dean dome
close to campus grocery vs. far from campus grocery

Each has positives and negatives but in general, freshmen tend to over party and be less considerate of their neighbors especially suite style…rooms.
