I will be an Engineering student in UM, but I don’t have a car so is it gonna post a problem that I will spend much time on travelling in campus by the shuttle?
It won’t be much of a problem. I lived on North Campus last year and the shuttle comes very regularly in the mornings (every 4-5 minutes). The ride itself takes 10 minutes to the MLB area, or 12 minutes to the CC Little bus stop. The main inconveniences would be when at night when you want to go back to your room after a party/library session, or on the weekends. Buses tend to arrive at more irregular intervals (the wait can be 15 minutes in the brutal cold).
Where do/are you going to live? If you live near a Michigan bus stop it shouldn’t be a problem. If you need to take AATA then it can really depend.
If you have a car, you will have more problem and the student parking are even farther away unless you find a meter spot. When I lived in Northwood, I really enjoyed taking the blue bus everyday. I only drive in the evening and weekend as the blue lots are open for all.
@Vladenschlutte Yes I need to take AATA, and it will take about 30-40 mins to get to North campus (according to Google Map). If the shuttle comes frequently then i am slightly relived
I’m living near Washtenaw Community College, so it is not that near to North Campus
@billcsho I see! Good to know you enjoy that
It is a 16 min bus ride (AATA bus 3, weekdays only) from Hewitt & Huron River Drive near Washtenaw CC to the VA hospital stop on the south side of North Campus. Bus runs every 30 min.
