<p>How prestigious is NC Governor's School outside of NC? My daughter attend as a rising junior last year and I know that it is very highly thought of as far as NC colleges go. But she is looking at schools like Dartmouth, Notre Dame, etc. and I have no idea how this stacks up to other programs across the country. Any thoughts?</p>
<p>Governor’s school is a nationally recognized program and is in many states, not just NC. While New Jersey’s GS is looked upon as “higher caliber” than NC’s, Governor’s school itself has a lot of weight.
NC GS is also the oldest and longest running.</p>
