Hey guys, I recently auditioned for North Carolina School of the Arts at Unifieds.. just wondering if anyone knows how they operate? Saw a previous thread that was pretty old so decided to start a new one.

I just got accepted into UNCSA today! I got a e-mail and the admissions counselor told me that the big packet would be coming in the mail soon. I move during the audition process so I think that is why I was sent an e-mail first.

Oh okay. Still haven’t heard anything. This is incredibly nerve racking.

And btw Congratulations!

Congrats, niceguy! That’s the first UNCSA acceptance I’ve seen so far!

Congrats, niceguy! I received my acceptance letter this past Saturday and sent in my first deposit Monday afternoon! This is soooo exciting!!! :o Have you heard anything yet nmicale?

Congrats to all. Got my acceptance to UNCSA last Friday!!

Congrats mcal101!! And thanks Are you committing to NCArts?

Leaning towards it… I have to finish hearing from schools… Then visit… and then make a final decision!

I just received my acceptance packet for Costume Technology and Design (D and P) for UNCSA on Thursday…
I WAS SO EXCITED!

Congrats louisorange!! Im also a future D&P student… I’ll be majoring in Stage Management.

RyanK2015 and Louisorange - My oldest daughter is a current student at UNCSA studying Stage Management and my youngest daughter will be attending there this fall studying in the Costume Design and Technology program. It is a wonderful school and those are two great programs. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Go Fighting Pickles!

Congrats on you too!
It’s great to meet more people who got accepted!

Do you guys know how many apply? When I visited, they told me they accept 30 out of 800-1000 a year, but on a website I saw, some random person said they take 30 out of 300???

This is just a guess, but the first figure might be college and the second high school. However, usually only just over twenty are accepted for the high school program, and I heard anywhere from 300 to 400 apply for those spots.

Any advice from people attending the school? I applied to the school earlier this year for their wig and makeup program and was not accepted. I am moving to receive instate this summer so when I reapply I have a greater chance. I had a portfolio, but it was only of one project I worked on. My resume had 12 shows and 6 of those I designed myself. My academics are average, 3.6 GPA and 24 ACT. I know I need to improve on my interview, but I don’t really know how. It would be nice to have some input from someone who was accepted. How is the campus? Do you enjoy it? Are the classes good and do you have a good chance at getting a job? Thank you.
