Thanks moviebuff... I wish you the best... maybe you and my D will be in the same class together! fingers crossed.

If not, it looks like Im headed to California or Philly. Im probably going to visit CalArts and UArts if anyone else is visiting. But I'm looking at two year programs in the city as well. Trying to get as many options as humanly possible!

We should be at the CalArts new student day.

I GOT IN!!!! I AM ACCEPTED TO NORTH CAROLINA'S BFA ACTING PROGRAM!!!!!!!! I HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK WITH DEAN FREEDMAN!!!!!

...I am still waiting on Carnegie Mellon, Boston Univ., DePaul, Purchase, CalArts, and University of Michigan.

I wish you all the best of luck in your endeavors. I am so excited!!!!

To be humble...

I DID get rejected from Julliard, the Guthrie at University of Minnesota (what a frighteningly fun and exciting ride, though), and University of Illinois (I recieved a second rejection letter from their theatre department in the mail...TWICE! How bizarre--as if to say, "That first one was NOT a dream, kiddo!" Oh well.)

Still no word. Not very optimistic at this point. One of my friends at NYU auditioned and didnt get in. Shes one of the most talented people I know. Im just terrified.

My son received word today that he was admitted to NCSA!!!! He is thrilled, grateful, excited. As he is transferring, and has gone through this audition process twice, he is even more appreciative of the acceptance. Best of luck to all!

Tranquil....very happy for your son. I just dropped him an emaill but am not sure if he still uses that old email now that he is in college and if not, please forward it to him. Great news!

Way to go TimThom as well.

Congrats on your son's acceptance to NCSA ... that's really wonderful news!

Just curious: how did your son find out: email, phone call, letter in the mail or something else?

Again, best of luck to your son at NCSA! And congratulations to you, too!

Susan, thank you so much for sending my son your message. I have forwarded it to him and I know he is very appreciative of your good wishes. I'm sure you will hear from him...I suspect he might be celebrating this evening!

Browneyes, my son is heading home tomorrow from college for spring break and is calling his audition schools to let them know where he will be over the next week so that the results can be sent to our home rather than school. Between the celebrating over the phone and the fact that he is West Coast and I am East Coast, I may have lost some details in the translation. But whoever he spoke with at NCSA was kind enough to tell him that he has been accepted to the BFA program. My son was also told that letters from the drama department have also been mailed. If I gather any more details from my son, I will definitely share them with you all. Hoping good news arrives at your home!

Transfer from where...?
...if I may ask...I am very excited...congratulations to you!

I still haven't heard anything from NCSA. Have rejections gone out yet?

Have yet to hear anything from NCSA... My roommate from last year got the Gerald Freedman rejection on thursday.

Anxiously awaiting something... Just looking for closure.

Has anyone heard from USC (BFA acting) - acceptances or rejections? My D applied in Dec and auditioned in Feb. There was an update on 3/13 on her application page - but still no word. What does anyone know or think???

I auditioned for USC BFA acting and I still have not heard anything.

Thanks Margot. My D is pretty anxious (understatement) but is aware of the odds. When she auditioned, she wasn't asked to improvise and felt it was a "bad sign" however I sat outside the audition room and didn't see anyone stay in there for longer than 10 minutes.

If it helps you to know: my D auditioned in February and was called-back that day but has not heard anything since.

How was she called back? Where did she audition? My D auditioned in LA in Feb - they were having auditions that entire day (until about 9 or 10 that evening I think) I'm just curious about the process of being called back. I wonder if NOT being called back means they weren't interested. Yikes

I am confused... are we talking about USC or NCSA?

NCSA. North Carolina School of the Arts.
