North Carolina State Uni or Uni of New Hampshire for Undergraduate Genetics?

I’ve narrowed down my options to these two universities for genetics, but I can’t tell which is better. Overall, NCSU has a better track record than UNH, but that’s in regards to academics as a whole. But for their respective genetics departments, UNH has a nice clear course/elective list with some decent choices, while the department site at NCSU only seems to have a general course list, without electives mentioned. This makes me think that NCSU might be a little behind on their Genetics program, or the site could just be missing info.

Anyone with experience(in or out of the Genetics department) able to give their view?

NC State is noticeably stronger in genetics at the graduate level. At the undergraduate level, either school would be perfectly adequate preparation for a PhD, which you’d need for a career in genetics.

Which state are you in? If you’re a NC or NH resident, you should obviously lean toward your state school. If you’re out-of-state, both will be fairly expensive, and there may be better options.

^Heartily agree!

Unfortunately I’m an international student, so cost difference doesn’t quite matter to me. I’m not the brightest one either, so better options aren’t really there for me either. The genetics department site for NCSU just doesn’t seem to give enough info for me to make the choice. Knowing the course options before diving in would give my decision more relief.

UNH would be easier to get into.
