RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- North Carolina underclassmen Ty Lawson, Wayne Ellington and Danny Green will withdraw their names from the NBA draft and return to Chapel Hill next season.
The school's announcement Monday came less than an hour before the deadline for underclassmen who had not hired agents to withdraw from the draft.
And it means the Tar Heels figure to enter next year as prohibitive favorites to reach the Final Four. North Carolina will return its top six players while also adding one of the nation's top recruiting classes.
All three players had participated in the predraft camp in Orlando before working out for individual teams in recent weeks. Coach Roy Williams said the three gained "valuable information," but said the timing for a leap to the NBA "was just not exactly right at this point."

This is VERY exciting news. It looks like UNC is going to be extremely competitive next season.

Ok....you Talk The Talk...but Don't Choke Unc....we Are Going To Cream You Even With Cry Baby Tyler And The "trio"...and Next Year...you'll Lose Them And You'll Have A Bunch Of Rookies...who Will Be Useless..

hey darkknight101, are you trying to redeem your dooks from their inability to reach the final four?
or is it because they lost to West Virginia?
WEST VIRGINIA!!!!!hahaha

Dark Knight Troll....Duke is spelled D-U-K-E. Do you need help finding your group on this site? or is there just nothing on that site that interests you?

^what a menial, ignorant, nescient comment. Rankings don't mean ****, and basketball is basketball. The rivalry is great for sports fans and the like, but taking this sports rivalry to an academic or occupational level is very much oblivious. You mention that "duke alumni will be your bosses".. to a degree, absolutely; and you only state an example of your father as a manager. Well, I know for a fact that many UNC grads are more well off than Duke grads. For example, unlike Duke, UNC excels both in their business program and English department. And perhaps your father has been at his job for a much longer time than those UNC alumni. With your arrogance, I doubt anyone would want to be your employee, perhaps not even your boss. Nevertheless, for whatever the occupation, to graduate from either school shows explicate intelligence and a promising future.
It's also quite humorous when Duke students who often talk trash about the UNC bball team (including some of my friends) go off to Franklin street to party with the TarHeels.

By the way, I'm a die-hard Dukie and will be a bluedevil this fall, but then again I don't take this sports rivalry out of context.
With that being said.. Tyler gaysborough better watch out next season. The 2 games will be spectacular, though

^I've never acutally heard anyone ever "Say That Yale And Harvard Are Millions Times Better Than Duke And Unc."

Rankings only really matter for extremely competitive jobs in certain markets (Wall Street), otherwise they don't really matter that much. I'm sure there are plenty of instances where a UNC graduate gets a job over a Duke graduate and vice versa. My point is, both are really good schools.

2007-08 Resume: 36-3, lost to Kansas in Final Four

Honestly, there's really no other option as the preseason No. 1. The Tar Heels will return their top six scorers and also add three quality freshmen to the mix. National Player of the Year Tyler Hansbrough is back for his senior season and the trio of Ty Lawson, Wayne Ellington and Danny Green each opted to return to school after testing the NBA waters. Roy Williams will also have junior big man Deon Thompson, defensive-minded wing Marcus Ginyard and he'll welcome the return of reserve guard Bobby Frasor from a knee injury. The loss of Alex Stepheson (transfer) shouldn't hurt much, if at all, with the addition of freshmen forwards Ed Davis and Tyler Zeller."

Say whatever you want about basketball because our performance speaks for itself.

Don't let your school's poor performance in basketball last year lead you into an insecurity that makes you go into our rankings, your perception of your superiority over us as a school, or whatever. That kind of infantile behavior isn't helping you.

Also, I don't care if you call Tyler names, but please don't call him Gaysborough. That goes out of the rivalry and into a realm of hate. By that I mean, the gay community shouldn't be brought into a debate about which athlete or team is better than another, or whatever. It hurts people's feelings who didn't sign up for their feelings to be hurt.

I didn't say that homophobia was specific to Duke, now did I? Tu quoque, my dear. Anyone that uses hate speech is no buddy of mine, no matter what school they go to, anyway.

I was asking specific people to stop doing something, not making broad generalizations. My post was not malicious, and it makes me angry that you take it as an attempt to add to the rivalry.

I was just joking, buddy. Don't take this rivalry thing so serious :P

HANSborough is a beast (being hit with a ping pong ball in the abs do hurt), with the exception of that chicken run across mid court on that one play.
