NCC out of Naperville, IL has caught my eye in my college search. Right now im living in South Central Missouri and I want to experience college in a totally new environment, so im looking a lot towards Chicago.

I dont know a whole lot about NCC except what the site and brochures tell me. Im either wanting to major in Business or biochemistry, they offer both...

I just would like to know if anyone has some knowledge on NCC, especially finaid and just the overall experience.

Naperville is pretty far from Chicago, just so you know. I mean, it's definitely a suburb of Chicago, and people do commute in to the city (I think it takes 45 minutes to an hour, though locals should please correct me on this), but you will not be having a day-to-day city experience there.

Naperville still has other things to recommend it, but it's not Chicago.

I don't live too far from campus and from the students I have talked to, they said the college is pretty generous with financial aid. The tuition is pretty cheap compared to other nearby schools. The school attracts motivated and ambitious students; there are no slackers there. The student body also has a little more of a liberal lean.

The campus is small and intimate. It's very charming and located in historic Naperville. The best sell of this college I would say is it's campus. Lots of green space and Naperville was recently ranked as the second best place to live in the country. A block away from campus is downtown Naperville which has cute shops, resteraunts, the whole nine yards. There's also a riverwalk nearby that is a popular hangout. A block away from campus in a different direction is the Metra line with service to Chicago. Fare is only about 3 dollars if you have your student ID. During different times of the day there are express trains that skip over all the stops on the line, except for the last three stops which includes Naperville; The express train is only about a 25 minute ride to downtown Chicago. On non-express trains it takes about 35 minutes to an hour at the most. Commuting is not a problem, a lot of students have classes and internships in the city.

A drawback I would say is that Naperville is a wealthy place -- and that means snooty people. Some people are probably less friendly than in southern Missouri.

There are a lot of little things I like about North Central when I read about it, and we have relatives who lived in Naperville for many years: a nice area.

I also like the school’s size and its easy access to Chicago.

Anyone have fresh input on North Central College of Naperville, Illinois? I am thinking we might visit.
