North Mountain vs South Mountain

So I’m trying to decide between the two above as an engineer and would just like to get some imput from parents, students, etc. about which option would be better for an incoming freshmen (what people have heard about the two)

Here’s my take on them:
NM
+Largest rooms on campus, nice outdoor lawn, big “panoramic” window, own microwave, quiet dorms, very close to campus
-Not as social as some of other dorms
SM
+Has a common area/study lounge to get to meet people
+Like NM, quiet near campus, etc.
-cramped. Might end up in triple even
-not much of an outside lawn area

Alright, so there’s my take on them. I don’t plan to party too much at all so that is not my concern but I want to know how SOCIAL the dorms above are.

Generally the red bricks are more social than north mountain but it all depends on who you are. Some of the most social people I know live in north mountain, but at the same time some of the most introverted people I have ever met live in north mountain. Don’t make it seem like the dorm you choose dictates whether you are going to be social.

Go out, meet tons of people, and be friendly no matter what dorm you choose (or is chosen for you, something Cal Poly has a knack for doing)

Thanks! I think I will get out often (I’m an active person) with clubs and stuff; I will be doing ROTC as well so that should be a good social outlet there.
