lol the college board should just throw out some 800's? you gotta be kidding me (I hope you were joking)... don't get me wrong, I think with all the money CB charges they should have this kinda **** figured out (they had to know about this humidity thing beforehand)... however, to play devils advocate, this thing is being completely blown out of proportion-I mean cmon read the data... 80% of students only had a diff of 10-40 pts on the 2400 scale-theres no way thats going to make or break a candidate for admission. For the kids who actually had a significant change (100 pts+), I'm sure the CB has strongly "encouraged" colleges to re-evaluate your application, and when all is said and done Im willing to bet you will be fairly reviewed based on your "real" credentials and scores... the whole thing has jus been an exuse to open the floodgates of frustration on the SAT/college process as a whole... everyone is just anxious for the letters, and needs to chill out- the vast majority (99%+) of kids weren't even affected

and as far as the "I didn't apply cuz of my scores" exuse goes, you have got to be kidding me. if you were foolish enough to not apply to a school that you really liked cuz of low SAT's, you have no one to blame but yourself-stop trying to make CB your scapegoat-if you really wanted to go, WHY didnt you just apply? admissions decisions are not generated soley on SAT scores, and the majority of applicants dont have the astronomic scores posted on CC-you should have taken a shot... Im sorry, but I have no sympathy for someone who thought it was too tough/not worth it to send in a $50 dollar check from their parents (and for the few who paid themselves, thats only taking a sat night off to babysit)... in the end, I'm sure all of you/your S/D's will head off to a school that they will enjoy, and this ******** will all be forgotten

fyi, it was sarcasm. It's just me, but I don't care much about my sat's since they're just the basics of what people are suppose to have learned during their years of hs and etc. Plus, it's only one out of so many factors for colleges to consider.

"Plus, it's only one out of so many factors for colleges to consider."

-exactly... most of the score changes will be insignificant in terms of an applicant's admission decision... unless there is some kind of bracketed scholarship system/a computerized equation, a few pts will have very little bearing on the ultimate decision

I was one of the affected ones, and I live in So Cal. As far as I can remember, humidity was no higher than normal then, and the actual test date was quite sunny.

ATTENTION EVERYBODY!!! "Tennisace3" WAS ON THE NEWS ACROSS THE COUNTRY!

round of applause!

clap clap clap clap

If someone has already stumbled upon this and posted it already, sorry.... but if not, you have to listen to this parody on iTunes about the SAT goof:

Go to iTunes, then Podcasts, click on Education, click on The Princeton Review Vocabulary and play the 1st podcast, entitled "Rainy Days Sat Blues".

that is absurd

well in singapore we have insanely high levels of humidity, higher than anywhere in america

so are all our scores wrong?

collegeboard screws up are more than just this occasion. they managed to award this guy from singapore 800, 800, 740 for 3 of his SAT II test, even though he never went for the test on that day

wow, best excuse ever. i wonder what the sat scores of the people at college board that came up with that one are.
