I was accepted EA to Northeastern, but a financial aid package wasn’t included because i hadn’t yet submitted my fasfa. I submitted it by the january deadline, but because EA decisions are in december they didn’t have time to review it. I was wondering if anyone knew when i should expect to see a financial aid package. It’ll weigh pretty heavily in my decision. Thanks!
Since this is an EA acceptance, you don’t need to make a matriculation decision until May 1.
You will have your financial aid package by then…assuming youmhave submitted all required things.
NEU also requires the Profile, hope you did that too!
Everything is all submitted including the Profile, Thanks!
My D got her FA package from NEU just a few days after her (early) acceptance, so I don’t think they wait until April to send it if you’ve completed everything. Check your portal to be sure it’s all in.
This student didn’t send his fafsa in until January.
@thumper1 Back when D applied no one could send their FAFSA until January.
@OHMomof2 that’s not the case anymore. Fafsa and Profile were both available in October.
According to the NEU website, the Profile for EA applicants was tombe completed between October 1 and December 1.
The FAFSA was to be completed between October 1 and Feb 15.
The February 15 deadline for fafsa is the same as for regular decision applicants.
This student has it all submitted now…so just needs to wait.
Yeah, everything was done before the deadlines, I made sure of it. Was just wondering if anyone knew when I could expect the package
Yes I’m aware of the deadline changes this year, @thumper1 . I’m not sure what your point here is, I only said that two years ago my daughter got her neu fa award very soon after her EA acceptance. It’s a relevant data point for the OP.
The OP will most definitely get the financial aid award well in advance of the May 1 matriculation choice date.
Mt daughter received a call from NEU asking for her father. Then they called him asking income verification questions. I wonder if this means acceptance or they are just looking for people who pay a full sticker price?
^^I think it means they are processing her FA package and needed more information, not that she’s been accepted or that they are looking for full pay students. Just processing the paperwork.
