Delayed response sorry... but just wanted to say that I think Northeastern is one of those schools that really looks at the whole person, and not just stats.

My brother goes there, and his grades all through high school were absolutely terrible. He got a fair share of D's (he excelled at any tests, but didn't do any homework in 4 years of high school so yeah...). His SATs were average (a bit higher than yours though, I think), and his recommendations were nothing special. He had a really huge resume of musical and theatrical performances, however, highlighting the whole 'artistic, smart kid who got lazy but has potential' thing. Meanwhile my boyfriend's cousin had better grades but got rejected.

I agree with Sweeter since our son is a freshman PharmD major at NU. The admissions department seems to look at the big picture, but the Pharm D program is quite competitive.

I think there are 118 freshman in the program this year and he said that many of the kids that he's met got waivers on the freshman calculus requirement because they had AP Calc scores of 4 or higher. (Our s had a 3.2 weighted GPA with 2060 SAT (740M/640R/680W) and five AP courses.)

Does your coursework include AP Calc or AP Chemistry? If you have scored 4s or higher that would help if you can't raise your SAT scores a bit. It would show admissions that you can succeed at the college level in the pre-pharm core curriculum.

I think the part-time work in the pharmacy will also show them that you have real interest in the pharmD major. Another point that was emphasized during the college visit & orientation was that leadership and volunteerism ECs were a big plus since it shows that you like to help people.

BTW - s loves NU and the pharmD program so far...
