Does anyone have information on the Cinema Studies at Northeastern? It looks like there are internships but are there coops? Is it considered a solid background and respected in the workplace? Do people do a combined BA with communication studies? Any info would be great.

I’m pretty sure every major has the option to take a co-op, and I don’t see why cinema studies would be an exception. Of course, in some case co-ops will wind up being used as internships, but given that you’re not limited to working with certain companies, its not as if the positions available to you are set in stone.

What does that mean, a coop ends up being used as an internship?
Is the Cinema Studies program a respected program in the working world?

On co-op you basically work for a company for six months. In some cases, students have basically just taken internship like positions during this period, while in other cases they’re basically acting as fully fledged employees.

I don’t know anything about the reputation of the cinema studies program.
