@Hayucos, You might find the Barnard thread helpful to your question. There is a student also accepted to Oxford and considering her options in US schools. There were some insightful responses to her posts. Good luck.

@collegemom3717, yes, an unconditional offer at Oxford. She is still waiting to hear from top tier US schools, but there won’t be any merit aid and we just miss the cutoff for financial aid. She’s been accepted to Univ. of Vermont and USC with merit aid, but not as much as Northeastern. Her dad and I have been putting aside money and are willing to take on debt for her, if need be. It is just hard to value a university’s reputation. She’s a self starter and I believe she’ll do well wherever she goes. I also think she’d enjoy Boston.

@muf123, thanks! I’ll take a look at the Barnard thread.

@Antarctica
I got the International Scholars scholarship, something of that name… for international students

Accepted honors engineering program with 20 K a year. I am an international is there any chance to have an extra financial aid? Is really expensive ://

Also wondering about increasing merit award. Some colleges will match, others don’t. I can’t find any reference to Northeastern in this respect. My S is accepted with 20K dean award but that still leaves a large chunk out of pocket.

20K is max deans/merit award at Northeastern - (besides the full tuition for NMS, university scholars, etc.) - you will have to find financial aid to meet any other needs.

RD, still haven’t heard anything yet. I don’t expect honors college due to “generic” SAT score, but my GPA is higher than their average and I have a lot of leadership experience. I’m so nervous! Anyone else still waiting? :/

DS received the University Scholars offer. His must come from a combination of grades, leadership, work, community service. ACT 30 4.5 weighted. We are waiting on 7 higher ranked universities, but we are prepping for Boston.

Congrats to those accepted RD and EA-I guess I’ll have to wait it out, I’m not sure what the status of my app is though, at the moment.

@beatlesfreak94 I’m still waiting too :)

Around 1:30 this afternoon, the NEU office of Student Financial Services emailed me about missing financial aid info. The first two sentences of the email were: “Congratulations on your acceptance to Northeastern University! We look forward to your arrival on campus.” But I had never received any other email about decisions so I was skeptical. I logged into my portal, didn’t see anything…so I called the admissions office. I was talking to a person who I assume is a student, but then he put me on with the supervisor because he didn’t know what to say. I explained the situation to this man, asking if it was good news or a mistake, and he was like “Well, that would be a mistake. You look like a competitive candidate but that was strictly to make sure all financial aid info was in, should you be accepted. It must have been misworded, as decisions have not yet been released.” I was pretty disappointed. Did anyone else receive a similar email containing this error?

I got an email from them today about missing aid info too - it stressed thought that the aid and admission are separate things.

According to this thread (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/northeastern-university/1469496-major-admissions-error-3.html), some decision are out, however mine isn’t. I was deferred and am confused as to why, and when they will be released.

I was deffered too with very high scores so I am anxious too see when new decisions will be up :/

Got accepted into the PharmD program at around 1:00 this afternoon in California!

I’m so confused as to what’s happening here. Why would they release some decisions today while neglecting to inform what seems like most other candidates? This is really early for a mass decision release. Ugh…

So, most likely decisions this thursday?

I think the release date last year was the 22nd. It’s either this Thursday or the one after, and I have a bad feeling it’ll be the one after.

I was also deferred and my friend was accepted with nearly identical stats so I’m hoping the decision comes soon! Good luck to everyone

Well EA results were sent on dec 13th this year, a Thursday. So if they create any kind of pattern with it, it’ll be the earlier thursday, the 14th.
