Northeastern Class of 2013/2017

Do international and domestic students hear at the same time? I’m an international student still waiting for my decision. Fingers crossed for all of us!

Many internationals have heard, but I think they are still releasing those. It is separate from domestic RD for sure.

Thanks Maggie! I felt so inferior reading credentials of accepted students on here, I didn’t realize that they hear first because of credentials. I’m not a special candidate. I’ll keep checking my mail, lol.

@maggie1821 why do you think we’ll hear the 21st? Anticipation is killing me!

@bulldogleader, it’s usually always this Thursday in the previous years

Then let’s hope for the best!

@curiouswanderer I feel like its more likely random. I am not sure but I am also an international student and I am still waiting for their decision, while my two international friends got into northeastern like 3weeks ago.

Lets wait together for good news! :)

Same here. I am also an international student but currently study in the USA. I haven’t hear anything…

My D just received a letter today requesting missing info for financial aid. I am wondering if this means she has been accepted!!! I guess we will find out Thursday!!! (she’s was EA freshman deferred and not international)

Can anyone actually confirm that top students are getting decisions back first or is that just an assumption people are making based on the stats of people who have reported decisions so far? Because obviously college confidential users don’t necessarily represent the pool of applicants at large.

crosses fingers i hope i get in… ;-;

@azisco,
I think top applicants received their acceptances first, and some of them were admitted as University Scholars( a program with a full tuition scholarship.) I say this because I was admitted EA, and just came back from the overnight university scholars event that happened on Sunday, and there were a few RD students there who were admitted to the program- so to attend the event they needed advance notice of it. Don’t worry! As you see only a few people received an acceptance for RD, early. I’m sure this is in no way indicative of whether
Or not you were accepted. Good luck to everyone!!! I hope everything works out for the best. Northeastern is great but even if you aren’t admitted you will definitely have other great options in front of you.

Hey! I have a question i am an international, is there any chance to ask for more financial aid on my sophomore year? Northeastern is so expensive ://

Jazmine1423, Congratulations! I don’t like their practice. There is no reason why NEU can’t be honest about it. It does not feel good about a college when I found out that someone from admission office was try to cover it up. IVYs are honest and open about likely letters.

@Johnyenglish: What are you talking about? The officail position is that decisions will be released by April 1st. NU can choose to release decisions when they please as long as they meet their stated deadline.

I know the school alerts us of their decision via email, but do they also send out real-life, tangible, paper letters?

I found out I was admitted over Presidents Week in February, and about a week or two later I received a packet in the mail.

TomSrOfBoston, I agree. NEU has the right to do so. However the admission office told me that only international RD students were informed earlier and all domestic students would be informed at the same time. I knew that was not true because I know a kid who was rejected by the school my kid was accepted received the RD decision in Feb. He is a domestic student.

I was accepted in the Honors Program with a scholarship award in early February.

Very very good essays.

@FatherMc, no offense (truly!) but I’m curious why you think your essay was “very very good”. Usually that’s the opinion of a committee for which you don’t know the criteria. I’m just curious if you were told by the university that it was good and what made it so.
