@Ajax16 Sure, no problem. :)

Hey does anybody know if 3-credit course at another institution transfers to Northeastern as 4-credit hours?

Ajax16,
Yes, I spoke with someone on the phone on Friday about that actually and she said my 3-credit classes would become 4-credit due to the fact that most schools do not do the 4-credit classes like NEU and they know that.

@SKB1994
Much Obliged.

I recall hearing that you would get credit for the 3-credit class as Northeastern’s 4-credit equivalent (as in completion for requirement purposes), but the number of credits that would be whatever your institution gave, so you would only get 3 credits for it.
For me this worked out to my advantage: I had a calc class that I took for 5 credits. It transferred in as calc 2, and they gave me 5 credits, even though the course is only 4 at Northeastern.

Just an FYI, 2 things:
- I still have not received an email indicating my acceptance but the portal shows I am in. If you haven’t gotten an email, you still might want to check the portal

In regards to classes transferring. If you log into myneu after acceptance, there is an option in the self service menu to show exactly what your classes are transferring into and which ones are awaiting review by the departments. I forget exactly what it’s called but it’s on the right side, first option for me. Above enrollment and housing deposits.

Sent from my SCH-I535 using CC

When do we get the actual letter?

Still waiting for a decision but good to know about the transfer of credits.

On a side note: so sad about the bombings today in boston, for anyone out there or anyone with family there, hope they’re all okay.

It’s very sad…I hope everyone is well, and so are their friends and family. Lets hope something like this never happens again.

Has anyone applied to Boston University? If so, have you heard back?

i submitted my supplemental to BU on march 31st and was accepted on april 5th

I applied to BU, but haven’t heard back yet! Also NYU and BC, but no decisions so far…

Hey so I spoke to someone about housing and they said that if you had the chance to pay the deposit you are guaranteed housing. I know sophomores are counted as upperclassmen but do all upperclassmen live in suite style housing? I spoke to someone that said all sophomores like in west village but I wasn’t sure. Congrats to all the acceptances!

I went to NEU’s Welcome Day and they told me housing for transfer students is completely random. You end up living where they have a place for you. It can be on a typical freshman housing or it can be on upperclassmen housing.

Does anyone know how important it is to maintain a “good” achedemic standard during your current semester, and whether that can eventually lose you admission?

I have a question for those that have received acceptance so far. Does NU provide a specific date you have to let them know your intention of enrollment, or is it different for each person like on the letter it says let them know within 30 days of the date on the letter? thanks in advance

Omricon, by “good” they probably mean don’t fail any class!

Yoshi45, my letter says I have to put down a deposit by May 1st. But for those who got accepted by the end of April or something, the deadline is probably different.

Hopefullyfresh, congrats and they got back to you quickly. I submitted my application and supplement essay on February 28th and I haven’t heard back yet. I thought transfer students weren’t supposed to receive a decision until Mid-May to Mid-June…

yeah, the quick turnaround surprised me as well. i’d been accepted there previously, so maybe that had something to do with it. i really just want to hear back from NE now, haha

@bosbr100 ah, ok. thanks for the reply. I was just wondering since most schools seem to make that date as May 1st, and in case i do get accepted (hopefully) i was a little concerned since that date is approaching and i still haven’t heard back from them. I got into drexel but if NU accepts me i’d like to attend there
