Northeastern Fall 2013 Transfer Page

I agree, I’d like to know if we need to send in a midterm report. I sent in course descriptions for my courses in progress.
GPA is 3.64, Sophomore, applying for Fall 2013.I had my stuff in since September. I can’t wait to hear back! What are my chances of getting in, do you think??

Bus, I am applying for Northeastern and Bentley as well. I think you have a good shot at both schools, Bentley is not a reach for you.

I am a freshman at Suffolk that will have 30 credits by the end of this semester. 3.9 GPA, 4.0 Midterm Report. 3.6 HS GPA and solid recommendations. I think I have a strong chance at both schools to be honest. What do you guys think?

Yes the midterm report is required unless your sending your high school transcript and standardized test scores

Sent from my SCH-I535 using CC

Where else are you applying to? Your stats seem to fit a potential MIT or BC application? Are you applying to either?

Sent from my SCH-I535 using CC

No just NEU and bentley

Does anybody know exactly how the mid-term report works? Is it as simple as going up to your teachers and asking them to sign and write down your grade with the same sheet and then sending it in yourself? I’m pretty sure my school (UMass Amherst) doesn’t provide mid-term grade reports so I would have to do it myself

Those are my top two choices as well. Can I ask why you are only applying to those 2 schools? Not trying to be nosy just curious.

Best business programs

What about MIT, Babson, BU, BC?

Sent from my SCH-I535 using CC

I’d rather go to NEU or Bentley. You have more options than me so more power to you dude

Lol i wouldnt call them options. Frankly BC is a reach and I am not applying to MIT. You seem like a great student. Neu and Bentley are my top two choices as well so maybe I’ll see you there!

Has anyone heard back yet? And if not does anyone have any idea when we will?

PatchRadio,my daughter transferred from UMass Amherst. What you have to do for mid-term grades is ask the professor directly. There should be a form to fill out. You give your professor the form. When they complete the form you send it into Northeastern.

Okay thank you so much! I am currently in the process of doing so right now. Do you mind me asking when she transferred? I’m so nervous and I’m not sure if they view a UMass student with an average gpa as equal or lower than a CC student with a high gpa

She was accepted back in '10 but didn’t go. For her major Emerson was a better fit. Her GPA was a 3.8

Oh, and for your information they give out Merit Scholarships for transfer students. My daughter got one.

Sent in my app today!!

I figure we can all post stats and see who gets in:

College GPA: 3.67
California Community College
29 ACT
4.0 midterm report
3 letters of recommendation (strength of letter)
1 from business law prof (7/10)
1 from my boss (9/10)
1 from polisci prof (10/10)
I didn’t send my HS transcript but I had a 2.31 (yeah it was that bad)

Hooks: diagnosed with a severe case of narcolepsy, full time worker, youngest manager hired by current company, work 48 hours per week, high school varsity tennis (1year). Debate team (1year).

finally have everything in as of the 6th. i’m applying as a sophomore physics major, and i’m anxiously awaiting a decision!

college GPA: 4.0, mid-term GPA: 3.93

Binghamton University

SAT: 1540/2170

SAT2:
physics: 750, mathII: 780, literature: 720

positive recs from a physics professor and my scholars’ class instructor. i didn’t see them but they would definitely have been more professional than personal, though i received an A in each class so they’re probably pretty good

HS GPA: 90.6/100 weighted (not great but w/e. i’ve performed well in college)

awards:
national merit scholar, president’s scholar, binghamton university scholar, dean’s list

other potentially notable things:

 • i’m a TA for introductory calc-based physics 1
 • i’m a second semester freshman and 4 of my 5 courses this semester are at the 300 level or above
 • i think my essay is pretty strong

i was disappointed to learn that
a.) transfers aren’t immediately eligible for admission to the honors college, nor are they eligible at all for consideration for the university scholars program
b.) transfer national merit recipients aren’t eligible for the full-tuition scholarship that they award to freshman recipients
but c’est la vie. hopefully i’ll be able to afford it!

also applying to Columbia, UPenn, Boston, and Vanderbilt

good luck to all!

@Bus i thought you can only submit one letter, and the rest get discarded?

and what major are you applying to?
