exactly two weeks ago today

congrats! did you already have all of your other material in at that point as well? also, if you don’t mind my asking, were you an exceptional candidate? i only ask because they got back to you so quickly

all my things were in two weeks ago i was not an exceptional candidate i have a 3.4 GPA, but my brother did go to northeastern so that might of helped

Wow i’ve been complete for almost a month no word yet mid-term grades are not so good though but they won’t stay like that i hope they take that into consideration. :/

I’m a freshman next year and didnt get into my desired college. I’m looking to transfer from Umass boston to northeastern, and I wanted to know the minimum gpa their looking for.

there’s no absolute requirement, but their website states that “Our most successful transfer applicants have earned a cumulative grade point of 3.3 or higher.” in reference to transfer applicants

Hey guys!

I was also accepted on Friday, 03/15 for their Journalism program!
But I will be waiting to hear back from BU and NYU before making a decision…

I submitted my common application back in January and all my materials were in by the middle of February!

Good luck for you all!

congratulations! good luck with your other school as well

Do you guys know what the deadline is to officially enroll or put down a deposit or whatever else they need you to do after they tell you that you were accepted?

hopefullyfresh, thanks a lot! :)

Plamenka, my deadline is May 1st. I’m not sure if this will be the same for everyone. I think they only ask me to pay the deposit, do the room survey if I plan to live on campus, check financial aid, and as an international student I also have to get my visa papers.

I was wondering if I could get an extension for this deadline, since I will be only hearing back from my other schools around mid-May.

Hey everyone,

My name is Ashley and I’m a freshman at UMass Dartmouth. I am looking to transfer to BU or NEU as a chemistry major. My current GPA is a 4.0. Has anyone got into the College of Science at NEU yet? Also, how long did it take to receive a decision after the admissions committee received all of the required documents?

Apirone, I received my decision about 4 weeks after my application was complete. Good luck!

Thanks bosbr100 and congratulations on being accepted. That’s awesome.

I applied into the College of Science also BNS major no word yet…

Applied for accounting in the business school, hope to receive my decision soon.

Anyone hear anything after yesterday?

Guys, I’m not from the US so I’m not so familiar how college works here…

Let’s say I pay the Northeastern deposit, but later on I found out I got into another school… Can I still decide not to attend northeastern, even though I put down the deposit? Even if I don’t get the money back… Can I still decide not to attend?

Don’t get me wrong, I love NEU… but the fact they don’t guarantee housing is a problem for me =/

Housing at Northeastern is guaranteed (and required) your freshman and sophomore years and in all likelihood you can get housing on campus for your third, fourth and fifth years if you so desire (many students make the choice to live off campus). Also, they are currently building a new dorm that is scheduled to be completed in 2014 that will add another 600+ beds, thus increasing the likelihood that any student who wants to live on campus will be able to do so. As a note, the dorms at NU are VERY nice compared to other schools!
If you are a transfer, you should submit your deposit ASAP…as housing is not guaranteed and early deposits are first in line for available housing. If you submit a deposit and choose not to attend, you just lose your deposit and can attend the school of your choice.

maggie1821, thank you SO much! This really helps

Yes, since I am a transfer they don’t seem to guarantee housing… so, I guess I will wait until mid-april then, because i heard there is the possibility to hear back from other schools!
Otherwise, I will submit the deposit and see what happens… And I did visit their dorms and some of them are really amazing! Thanks, again :)
