Yes that’s why I’m saying don’t call the admissions office because they will just give you a scripted, generic answer that they’re told to give to anyone calling about admissions decisions. That’s why it would be better if you emailed the admissions officer who is handling your application directly. They will be able to give you a more in depth explanation.

I met with an admissions officer two weeks ago and she said decisions won’t be sent out until April 1st

@transfer781 do you think that people who have had all their documents in for a while will hear exactly on April 1st? I know people last year heard as early as March 15th.

hey even though some grades aren’t in or I have had only one test/quiz in some of my classes do I still have to turn in a midterm report? cause some people from last year still got accepted without turning one in so I was just wondering…

@sha242 They may have submitted their SAT/ACT and high school transcript instead. Having those two required documents can be substituted for a midyear report which then becomes unnecessary but I am sure it would not hurt to sent anyways.

@tankredsox oh I see! thanks! btw what are you planning to study? Cause what I saw from last years thread they apparently look at applicants of business majors last so maybe that is why you are not getting an early answer?

@sha242 I am an engineering major so unfortunately that is not the case. What about you?

@tankredsox hmm I guess you’ll just have to wait and see and I’m a business major:)

I’ve also been told that the first “batch” of decisions will go out in the first week of April! I believe they give priority to those that were submitted applications first! (:

Has anyone heard back yet?!

hey everyone. i was considering applying as a transfer for the fall of 2014, and was wondering if anyone could tell me if i have a shot at northeastern? i currently attend a top 20 university, and was recruited there as a varsity athlete, but want to be closer to home next year. i only got a 3.1 first semester because i got a C in an advanced latin course that was 6 credits…but i have all A’s this semester, and all A’s first semester besides latin and one A- … i attended a top 5 boarding school for high school, and we didn’t calculate class rank there, but my grades were pretty good (before i transferred to boarding school, my public school GPA was 3.87 UW) … i have a ton of extracurriculars and community service, but my test scores aren’t great (SAT 1950 - CR 620 M 660 W 670) … i have good recs, and an additional rec from the CEO of a foreign non-profit that i work with during the summer, and i know my essays are pretty good because writing is the one academic area i really thrive in … i wasn’t sure how competitive transfer admission at northeastern was, so wasn’t sure if i should even waste my money applying, especially given my low college GPA … any insight would be great!

Hey @boston3223! I don’t think you’ll have any trouble getting in :3 Especially with all the extra perks you have on your side! But I would send it soon though if you are thinking of applying! The deadline is April 1st! :O

thanks so much @PeachesOrPears! i guess i will just apply and see what happens…i just worry a lot because that latin grade really brought my GPA for first semester way down…do you know if they will seriously consider what is on the midyear report? i had all A’s on that and my professors wrote good comments, so i was hoping that might look hopeful

hey everyone! i am seeing on the applicant status check that it requires a college transcript and then a college transcript 1 … does anyone know the difference between these because they are both listed as required documents but i sort of thought they were the same thing haha? thanks!

Hey @boston3223, I think college transcript 1 referes to the mid term report. I’m not positive on whether I’m correct or not, but what else could it be?

@boston3223 @cctransfer212 College transcript 1 is the same thing as a college transcript! The number just correlates to the number of schools you went to. For example, if you went to two colleges, they would need College Transcript 1 and College Transcript 2! And yes they do put midyear into consideration (:

Thank for the clarification @peachesorpears.

Has anyone heard anything yet?

Decisions are being released after the April 1st deadline so hopefully sometime next week @go1fgirl

Thanks @tankredsox! I was just wondering because when reading the thread from last years transfer class decisions were spread out all over the place. Maybe they are actually following what the put on the website this year though! :)
