Hi everyone,
I’m very excited and nervous about applying to Northeastern into the Bouve College of Health Sciences for Fall 2016. I’m currently a freshman Genetics major at University of New Hampshire. A part of the Honors program, Half-marathon Club, and Project Sunshine, I’ve also done some lab training in cell culture during my first semester. I’m not confident in my transfer essay (generic not very exciting), and my recommendation letter is from my English teacher as my science classes were large lectures and I didn’t get close enough to the professor. Here are some other stats, I would appreciate your feedback.
-High School GPA: 4.47 (3.9 unweighted)
- College Prep Program (I took all honors and 3 AP classes, getting 4’s and 5)
-Participated in Track and Field, Cross Country, and Swim
-Active in school community
-Current volunteer at therapeutic horse farm
-Certified lifeguard
-SAT: 1980 (720 CR, 640 Math, 620 Writing)
-ACT: 30 (27 Math, 27 Science, 35 Reading, 32 English, 30 Writing)
-College GPA: 3.75
First Semester Classes: Honors Biology, General Chemistry I, English 401, Genetics, and Intro to U.S. in World Affairs
Second Semester: Honors Biology II, General Chemistry II, Applied Biostatistics
I will be taking a summer class to be a Certified Nursing Assistant this Summer. I’ve also taken a summer class on genetics through Brown University. Typical family situation, no special circumstances or events. I’m from Massachusetts so not sure how that will impact my chances.
I’d appreciate any help or feedbalc
