Northeastern Honors College Chances

Hi!

I’ve posted in this discussion before. But, upon considerable reflection my true top choice school is Northeastern. I wanted to apply ED, but I have a twin sibling attending college this year as well, and it just wasn’t a decision my family was comfortable with financially or otherwise. So, I applied EA. I wrote an email expressing this briefly to the admissions department. That being said, my dream is to get in EA (I know that they defer most EA candidates), get some merit aid, and get into the honors college. I’m just wondering how realistic this is. I would really really love to get accepted to the honors college, how realistic is that and is there anything I can do post applying to help? And is there any chance I don’t get deffered to regular decision.

Here is my basic info…

32 ACT (35 in English/Reading, 28 Science/Math)
36 ACT Writing
Top 10%/1st Decile
4.556 W GPA
4 APs J year (Biology, english lang, spanish lang, APUSH)
4 APs S year (Eng lit., micro, govt, calc ab) + College course anatomy
Class President/Newspaper Editor/Soccer Captain/Key Club VP/STEM Crew President

Thanks so much! I’d appreciate any ideas, I need to stop thinking and stressing about this so much.

The lowest ACT score I’ve seen for an honors college student is a 33. However, that score is superscored. The cutoff for GPA is around 3.8 UW. Does your UW GPA pass that threshold?

@ap012199 I got into Northeastern honors with a 31 ACT, 3.6 UW

@EverythingIsBlue congrats! Yeah prior to this year I didn’t know anyone in the honors college who got below a 33, but my friend got in with a 30! I think it depends on the college to which you apply within NEU.
