So I got rejected from all the Ivies I applied to. I got into RPI and Northeastern's honors college, and after my aid I have to pay 22k at RPI and 26k at Northeastern. I want to go into medicine, so which would be better to choose? I know RPI is higher ranked, but it doesn't have an honors college. Northeastern doesn't have Biomedical Engineering, my major at RPI, so my major there is biomedical physics. I have like 2 days to decide. What should I choose and why?

I think environment is a big consideration here. Both have great programs, but are very different in location and social environment. I would say they are both good enough and close enough ranked and in actuality that the primary consideration should be environment. Money is also close enough that it shouldn’t be a factor.

Does either school offer you the opportunity to RA for three years? Is it a difficult position to get? I’m trying to reduce your total costs so that you’re carrying less debt into med school, if you end up going there. Both have co-ops, I believe, and that can help with costs. Med school alone can be several hundred thousand. Personally, I like Northeastern, all things being equal. How much debt will you have after 4 years at each school?
