I got into Northeastern University today! I got the Dean's Scholarship ($22,000/year). My SAT is 2220. My un-weighted average is a 97.3 (plenty of AP's in the mix). And yet... no Honors Program, at least not as far as I can tell! What gives?

They don’t base admittance to the Honors Program solely on your SAT score and GPA. They consider the top 10% of the applications of the incoming freshman for the honors program. The reviewed materials also include leadership and community service.

That’s true. I’m also a national merit semi-finalist, and I think I have strong EC’s. Not enough, I suppose. The thing that’s strange is that I got a fairly large scholarship package. Most students I’ve seen on the “official” thread (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/northeastern-university/1587262-official-class-2014-2018-early-action-decisions-83.html) got honors with a $14-$16 thousand Dean scholarship (then again, some probably got 25 grand). I suppose I really shouldn’t be complaining. I just don’t see why they gave me the money but not the honors invitation.
