Northeastern Hopeful

Ok Northeastern is my absolute top school and I need to know if I at least have a shot.

I have a decent GPA 3.4 (maybe, unweighted) although I did get a couple of Cs in math. =[
I have a 1330 SAT (in math and reading) and a 1950 overall
I've done a ton of community service because of a club I am apart of
I've been apart of theatre all four years of high school and tried a sport one year
I've been apart of two separate foreign exchange programs
I went to a french immersion camp for a month one year
I've had summer jobs
I'm out of state from the South
and I attend a highly competitive private school...

My GPA is the only thing that's really bothering me, because I did so poorly in math sophomore and junior year (even though I worked really hard), but I did really well in my first semester.

Northeastern is my dream school and Boston is the most awesome place in the US. I have to go there!

i think u have a pretty good chance. my stats are similar to urs except my test scores were lower. they denied me because of my test scores, but i think u would have a better chance.

How do you find out the reason you were turned down?

What were your test scores, collegebound010?

Chance me please:
Hi, before I begin I would like to say I appreciate your input.

I am the descendant of haitian immigrants who never went to college.
I am currently a junior and will be the first to go to college and probably the last since my little brother is autistic.

I entered my junior year with a 2.6 GPA, and if my calculations are correct I will end this semester with a 2.7 GPA . The reason for my low GPA is due to domestic issues (depression & divorce) However, I am a student with a lot of potential however that does not reflect on my transcript, unfortunately.

I have been doing quite well this year with an AP course in addition (AP English with a solid B)

This year I am taking:

  • Accounting I
  • Web Development
  • AP English
  • French 3
  • CP US History
  • Algebra 2
  • Honors Chemistry
And I am currently a student aid for an entrepreneurship class. I assist students with their business plans for an In School Business Plan Competition.

I have not taken my SATs yet; I plan on taking them in June up until November of next year, just so that I can complete my Algebra 2 course and develop my vocabulary.
I am aiming for 2000

Next year I plan on taking 4 AP courses:

  • UCONN Microeconomics
  • UCONN Macroeconomics
  • AP Biology
  • AP Literature (English)
