I hadn’t seen these stats until now on NEU admissions for students who are freshman in the 2017-2018 school year. They’re very impressive. It shows a record high number of applicants, a record low acceptance rate, and a record high yield for the most recent year. I’m surprised NEU has not published them on its website or in a press release, but maybe I missed them. Copied below and link at the end. I thought this forum might be interested.
Year Applications Acceptances Percentage Accepted Enrolled Percentage Enrolled
This is the disclosure that is sent to Moody’s for purposes of determining Northeastern’s bond rating. It was well known that Northeastern, along with BU and BC, were overenrolled this fall. The freshman target was 2800. 3108 enrolled for an over enrolment of 308 freshman! Although the report shows that transfer enrolment was reduced by 175. Estimating yield is difficult. My guess is that the freshman class of 2018 may be reduced to compensate.
Actually BC’s acceptance rate was flat at 32%. BU’s improved to 36%. NEU seemed to have the biggest change in yield and has a significantly lower acerptabce rate among the three at 27%.
