Northeastern or Bentley

I’ve been accepted to both Northeastern and Bentley undergraduate business schools. Does anybody know which school might be a better choice??

Well, I mean Bentley is a school made specifically for Business majors with a focus on Business education so it’s business program is probably a lot better than NU’s…

Although I haven’t seen or visited Northeastern, Bentley is known for business related subjects. Bentley is also much better ranked in almost all areas of business over that of Northeastern. In fact, many of the Bentley kids get internships and coops in their field, which certainly even rival that of Northeastern. Thus, for business related majors, I would pick Bentley in a heartbeat.

However, Northeastern is a much bigger school than Bentley and has a different culture. You should visit each to get a feel from both schools.

I’m in the same situation, while i might have better business opportunities with bentley, i will probably go to northeastern b/c it still has a very strong business program (actually ranked higher than bentley in businessweek, not that it matters though), has a 50/50 guy/girl ratio as opposed to 60/40 at bentley, living right in the middle of boston, but still having a nice campus, and neu is bigger which is better for me. I hope this helps you.

They are completely different schools as far as college life. Northeastern is a very urban college Has a the train to Boston running through the campus. There are lots of majors to choose from. My son decided not to appy due to the campus.

Bentley is in the Suburbs smaller school. We were very impressed. It is a Business school with good Libral Arts. Vey nice campus.

Also, don’t be put off by the 60-40 male/female ratio at Bentley. Many kid can and do take liberal arts courses at nearby Brandeis. If you are not too shy and introverted, you can make both guys and gals at Brandeis. In fact, my son shared an apartment with some Brandeis girls.

Thanks for the responses, they were helpful. I’m also wondering if being interested in working internationally in the future might affect which school might be better suited? I’ve read forums from a couple of years ago that compare the schools and most said that Bentley is mostly only recognized in the Northeast, whereas Northeastern is more internationally known… I don’t live in the U.S. so it would be helpful to get a better understanding on whether or not this is true.

I had this exact dilemma last year. In the end, I chose Bentley because my brother and my cousin both went to NEU and I wanted to experience a different school.

I’m not too sure about the working internationally thing but I think it wouldn’t be too hard if you decide to study abroad.

Also, I don’t know if you know already but Bentley has an awesome LSM program (liberal studies major), where you can choose to do a business major and then a LSM program for a dual degree.

Actually, Bentley is ranked higher than Northeastern according to Businessweek.
