Northeastern or GW for International Business

<p>I'm torn between Northeastern and George Washington for International Business.</p>

<p>Both are great schools in a city environment. Northeatetrn in Boston and GW in DC. Both highly ranked Northeastern #13 for intl' biz and GW at #16. </p>

<p>I think I'd prefer living in DC more and GW is very politically active (which I like) and I like the campus a bit better, but I really love Northeastern's IB program where you spend a full year abroad, become fluent in a foreign language and have the co-op work experiences. Then again DC has a lot of great government jobs/internships and I think it might provide more opportunities than Boston. I have heard that GW's business program is very structured though, which (considering I'd like to take a wide range of classes) doesn't seem to be great for me. I've been accepted to both and the financial aid I got makes them both around the same price.</p>

<p>Any opinions? Anyone go to the business school? It's a really tough choice for me and I'm not sure what I'll do.</p>

<p>I am a student at NU now, though I am transferring for Fall '09. Anyways, if you’re going to go to Northeastern, being an international business major will really maximize your experience there. If you are serious about co-op and internships, go to Northeastern, absolutely… that is by far their strongest, most flexible program. You can go on co-op anywhere in the U.S. for your first time, then anywhere in the world after… meaning you can take advantage of the DC opportunities if you find something really perfect there. The best quality, I think, of Northeastern is their willingness to let you do whatever you want to do (i.e. take classes at Harvard under “independent study” as I did, choose specific locations for co-ops, find you ideal internships, provide you with resources, etc.), and being part of their regarded program will certainly enhance this.</p>
