Northeastern phone call from faculty member

I received an email saying that a faculty member would like to speak to me about my application and further explore my interest in the College of Media, Arts and Design, and that I should contact so and so "if i was interested".

What does this mean about my chances of getting in ?

I was told that Northeastern does not conduct interviews, so I'm a bit confused. Has anyone received a similar email ?

I was told at orientation last year that Northeastern only conducts interviews by invitation, and that most of those are in the fine arts. Maybe you are one of the ones selected. I would view it as a good sign.

You probably have already gotten your answer for this, but I got in ea and I got a call too. They were just wondering if I had any questions, and if I did, the message just said to call or email. I don’t think your call was any type of interview.

I got a call like this when I was accepted last year, and got sort of nervous feeling like I had to return it and things…
My PR professor actually brought up the topic the other day as she was telling us about university marketing strategies. So yeah, they just want you to feel a more personal connection with Northeastern in the hopes you’ll decide to attend. Ha.

Thanks for the responses!
Well I haven’t received a phone call as of now. I got an e-mail asking me to set up a phone call by responding with convenient times. I sent the reply a few days ago and haven’t heard back from them yet…
