Hello, I’m a senior from New Jersey, and have been accepted into Miami and Northeastern and want to do pre-med at whichever school I attend. However, I have had trouble deciding on which school. I believe Northeastern is a little better academically but the weather and sports at miami are unparalleled. I was wondering if anyone could tell me which school has a “better” pre-med program or just about any pros or cons. I’m sure all of the sciences classes and requirements both schools offer are pretty much the same but I know that Northeastern has Excellent research opportunities through its coops. Does Miami have any research or clinical exposure opportunities, particularly in the tri-state area?
Please let me know what you think.
Thanks so much.
I’d assume Miami would have resources as well. The real question I think is cost… is Miami cheaper? Did you get a scholarship at Northeastern? Ultimately for med school admissions it doesn’t really matter where you go for undergrad, just that you have a rigorous program with an outstanding GPA and MCAT with solid research, both of which you could get at either school.
