I’ve been accepted. Is there any way to check if I have been accepted with housing or anything like that?

Just got accepted for Fall 2011 to Northeastern!

You have to fill out a housing application and in order to do that you to put down the $400 dollar housing deposit.

I have already paid the $200 dollar tuition deposit but am holding out on other schools until I fork over the other $400. On top of the NEU welcome day fees I’m potentially paying 1000 bucks before stepping foot on campus, yikes.

Oh and congrats!

I’ve got til the 10th to pay my deposit. The only reason I’m holding out is NU came back with embarrassingly low financial aid for me. I wish they had given me more so i could just commit and get excited.

Does anyone know where we can find potential roommates as sophomores? Is there like a facebook group or something for incoming sophomores to NEU for fall 2011 that are looking for roommates? Also, which are the best housings for sophomores and upperclassmen?

@gshimmy I’m not sure about a facebook group specifically for find room mates but we have made a FB group for transfers who are planning on attending NU for Fall 2011.

I don’t know much about housing yet either. But if you go to **************.com they have a list of places to live off campus if thats what your looking for.

PM me for the website. It doesn’t like the name.

This thread will help so many future transfer students trying to transfer to NU in the coming years that they don’t even realize it. :p

how were you guys notified? mail, email, online?

You’re notified online.

When you login it will look completely different. It will have a link that says decision letter I think. When you click it, it brings up a letter that they would have normally mailed to you.

Also, how do we know if we’ve been given housing?

That could be a big part of my decision and I am having trouble finding any info on whether I’ve been given housing.

If you sent in your housing deposit as soon as you got accepted and if you have a roommate survey in the self service tab on your neu portal I would assume you got offered housing?

Hi guys, what year did you all apply for? are you going into your sophomore year or junior?
I’m going to be a freshmen in the fall and know I want to transfer to NU (long story short; I used to live in NY, I live in so.cal now and I want to go back to the northeast for a while)
do you think I could transfer in as a 2nd semester fresh? 1700 SAT, 3.7 GPA, tons of activities & leadership roles, 200+ volunteer hrs, great recs. & really good essays.

I know it’s not 100% related to the post, I just though I’d post it here for the time being, thanks

@alexxa13 you have a very good chance. But it also depends on how you go the first semester as they might want mid-term grades. But otherwise I would think you have a very good chance.

@Chaddi
Were you admitted to NU as a transfer?
Since the transfer admission process is rolling when is the best time to apply for fall & spring? Like maybe say, Sept. for spring, and Jan. for fall?
Also I don’t know if it makes a difference but I’m going for the College of Science (psych, or biochem, or possibly try to double major)

So I was accepted over three weeks ago, and still haven’t received a sufficient degree audit. Only on Tuesday did they ask for course descriptions, so I guess they’ll start the process? Ugh, Emerson needs to know by late May if I’m enrolling or not, and they’re taking all my credits. NU is my first choice, they need to hurry up :(

Alexxa… Apply as early as you can. I mean if you apply for fall, submit EVERYTHING by 1st of Feb. I submitted too late so i got rejected. I have same stat as you. So good luck! Since you are not applying to biz you should be fine( biz program at NEU is super competitive.

@Halidir
what term did you apply for?
the admissions office told me the deadline for fall was 5/1.

NOOO!!! Alexxa. Admission is rolling basis that start 2/1 and ends on 5/1. Dont make the same mistake as i do. Submit EVERYTHING by 2/1, even earlier if you can!!! I applied for Fall 2011.

okay I definitely will! Thank you

@alexxa13 Ya I got into the college of science for chem major for fall… and Halidir is right apply early as possible. If your going for fall apply at the latest by late march… spring around sep. good luck!
