Is anyone able to tell me what I should expect in the mail in the coming days? Transfer credit Eval, Financial Aid, Housing Deposit, etc.

Just received my financial aid today. With an EFC of 0 we are expected to contribute about 20k per year, over a quarter of which is loans. I’m afraid I’ll have to deny admission… I really like Northeastern too oh well, another spot for a deserving student!

Hi everyone, I’m currently a sophomore mechanical engineering student at NU. I’m actually thinking of transferring out (either in the fall or next spring after my 1st co-op), but if anyone has any questions for a current student I’d be happy to try and answer :)

Deltron can I ask you why exactly you want to transfer out?

Second that. Deltron why re you looking to transfer out?

Also is anyone able to sign up for regional receptions yet or have they not been planned? I’m hoping to go to one before may 10th

I’m an Industrial Engineering major at Rensselaer looking to transfer in.

Delton, how do you like the engineering program?

I have mixed feelings on it. I’ve had a few really good professors and a few really bad ones. Idk if I’ve just got unlucky, but this semester I have three pretty bad teachers.

Apart from academics, theres a few other reasons I want to leave. I’m from MA and probably want to live here after school, so going elsewhere now may be my last chance. Also, I’ve been starting to desire a different experience from school. Being at a city school last year (freshman year) was fun, but I want to be at a more traditional college now. Apart from that, I had a falling out with my good friends, so I don’t really have anything keeping me here.

I’m hoping to be accepted to USC (SoCal) for the fall. If not, I’ll be on co-op this fall and may apply to schools for Spring 2012

Good choice. Good luck with everything! Thanks for your help.

@Deltron It sounds to me like you’ve been Pretty unlucky. All schools have bad professors but I can understand your desire to get out having 3 bad professors.

If you don’t mind. What type of classes are they? Ge? I only ask because as a transfer student I will be skipping lower level classes and will hopefully not have to deal with the big ge classes.

Differential Equations & Linear Algebra, Mechanics of Materials, and Material Science

accepted this morning! I’m coming from sacred heart university with a 3.6 in the honors program. My application was finalized on the april 6th.

Accepted !!! =)

After a month of torture I got the email.

ACCEPTED!!
good luck to those who are still waiting and congrats to those who are in.

Yay, congrats! I think it’s time to make the Facebook group… on a hypocritical note, I don’t want to be the one to do it. Come on, any takers?

I have no problem making the group. Someone needs to pm me their profile URL so that I can make it though. In order to make a group you have to have 2 people. I may have to add that person as a friend to make the group. After that I can just post the link to the group here.

Note: NU is one of my top choices and I’m still waiting for FA from NU and another school but I will gladly make the group.

Facebook group is up and running:

Does anyone know how we receive our transfer credit evaluations… online or in the mail? and when we should expect them?

I would expect it in the mail with the hard copy of your acceptance letter.

I’m hoping to receive mine sometime this week. Hopefully some financial aid info too.

ACCEPTED for graphic design :p
