Northeastern Transfer Thread - Fall 2018

Hey guys,
I am currently looking to transfer to Northeastern. I am creating a thread to find others wanting to transfer there as well for Fall 2018. Would appreciate knowing everyone’s stats!

Hi I am also interested in transferring to Northeastern as well and I am planning to post my stats after I get my grades for this semester.

I just submitted my application last night!
College GPA: 3.68
1st semester: 3.38
2nd semester: 3.72
3rd semester: 4.00

Academic Honors: Chancellor’s List (1x), Dean’s List (2x)
ECs: Volunteer work, Internship with SuperPAC and Senate Campaign, Founder and Chairman of On Campus Political Organization, Exec. Director of State Chapter Political Organization , 30 hour/week part time job.
Applying with 42 credits, will be enrolled with 57 credits, so I am not sending in my SAT scores and my H.S. GPA shouldn’t be a factor.

Northeastern is my first choice so I am hoping I get in!

Currently, a sophomore attending SBU in NY. I’ll be applying as a junior, OOS student. I want to get into Business college. This is like my top school. Chances are low.

Ethnicity: Caucasian (international student from Turkey).
Major: Finance
College GPA: 3.78
HS GPA: 3.9ish
SAT: I have 55 credits so not required.
TOEFL: I am exempt. Sixth year in the USA.
Courses: I have done Calculus and Economics courses.
Honors: Dean’s List (3x)

College ECs:

  • Vice President of Turkish-American Association
  • Member of Investment Club
  • Member of Honor Society Club
  • Have done some interns in Turkey
  • Working as a part-time job on campus

High School EC/Awards (not all, just ones I’m including)

  • Couple community works
  • Done abroad community work
  • Some clubs in HS

Currently a freshman at Fordham. I don’t have a lot of stuff because I’ve only been at college for a semester

Current College GPA: 3.918
Extracurricular Activities (honestly didn’t join that many clubs):
-Asian Pacific American Coalition: Member, Fall 2017
-Flash Magazine: Member, Fall 2017

I technically signed up for and showed up to a few other clubs, but I don’t know if they’re worth putting down since I wasn’t that involved.

High School GPA: 3.5 (unweighted), 3.8 (weighted)
SAT: 2120 one score, 2170 superscored (I think)

Extracurricular Activities:
-Gender Equality Club (sophomore to senior)
-Breaking Images Club (junior to senior)
-Some outside art competition stuff (freshman)
-Outside tennis and gymnastics during my freshman and sophomore years
-I had a job senior year (if that counts)
-Community service stuff

I think there was some other stuff, but I honestly can’t remember most of the stuff I did in high school.

I’m currently a freshman at Sacred Heart University. I’m looking to transfer and Northeastern is my favorite. Applying to Business School.

College GPA: 3.95
Involvement: Dance Company, Fashion Club, Marketing Club, Love Your Mellon Crew, Art Club, Work Study.
Won freshman business competition.

High School GPA: 3.5
ACT: 24 (weak spot)
Involvement: Peer Mentor, Best Buddies, Global Interactive Volunteers, many community service hours.
Traveled the world on USA Dance Team.
I don’t know my chances too well, I think my main problem is my act score.

If you have completed fewer than 24 credits when you apply they will look at your high school GPA and test scores. You may want to wait a year to transfer. Then they will only look at your college stats.

I’m currently a sophomore at College of San Mateo! I’m applying for the Psychology program at Northeastern and this is my top choice, however I’m hoping my academics are in the right range.

I am half Peruvian, half White and am a first-generation family member attending college.

I’ve taken 43 units so far, so I won’t be needing to send in HS stats. Will be enrolled with 57 units if accepted.
College GPA: 3.42
1st semester: 3.7
2nd semester: 3.05 (not too hot taking 17 units for the first time)
3rd semester: 4.00
4th semester: 3.58
Will be taking an Applied Calculus course this upcoming semester.

College Extracurriculars:
-waitressing job since Fall 2016
-lead in school’s musical Spring 2017
-volunteered at Dream Center (for undocumented students)for Fall 2017
-primary caretaker for my younger sister since my mom went back to work (not sure if this counts, but could help?)

HS Extracurriculars:
-theatre from Fall 2012-Spring 2016
-Leadership class Junior and Senior year
-involvement in Latina Mentor Program Fall 2012-Spring 2015

Hi! I’m currently a second-semester college freshman at CSU Sacramento and I’m applying as an incoming sophomore to the Northeastern University School of Criminology and Criminal Justice… I didn’t get in my first try during my senior year of high school, but I took the opportunity to improve and try to become a better person and a better student, and hopefully, I can this time! All feedback and advice, no matter how positive or negative, is super appreciated!

Current College: California State University, Sacramento
College GPA: 4.0
College Units Acculumated: 41 (half of those are from like AP. I’m expected to have 61 at the end of my second semester…)
High School GPA: 3.61 (Weighted) / 3.1 (Unweighted) Weak spot…
SAT: 1890 Weak spot… :frowning:
ACT: Did not take
College Extracurriculars:

  • Member of Three Student Government Committees (Student Relations, Academic Affairs, Appellate Council)
  • Board member of Rotaract (Social Media Coordinator)
  • R.A. Hall Council
  • Student Researcher for institute associated with CSU, Sacramento

High School Extracurriculars:
A bunch of clubs, but I’m really going to mention Speech and Debate, where I won 6th in the State of California at Duo Interpretation. The state and national competition happened after I submitted my freshman application to Northeastern so I wouldn’t have been able to report on it.

Let me know what you think!

Go Huskies!

Hey Guys! I just turned in my fafsa, and my Estimated Expected Family Contribution is 000112. I was wondering if you guys had any idea/estimate on how much aid I’d get/how much I would be paying if you guys had any friends at NEU who got aid from fafsa. Let me know! Thanks

@koreanincali Did you submit the CSS Profile which is required of all first time applicants? What does the NPC indicate your expected contribution will be?

@TomSrOfBoston no I haven’t, I only did FAFSA. Is the CSS Profile also required of transfer students?

@koreanincali Yes

I am looking to transfer in the fall. I’ve only just started looking though. When is the application deadline?
Also, do I have a shot?
Major: Computer Science
College GPA: 3.3 (going to be higher at the end of this semester)
Current school: well known and ranks higher than Northeastern for CS nationally
Originally from New England, but moved pretty far to my current school
Clubs: various CS related clubs, women in computing, game development, organized a hackathon, outside projects
Don’t remember my ACT or SAT scores, but I think they were a little above national average.

Northeastern was my top choice when applying to colleges last year, but I was deferred then rejected :frowning:

If you have completed fewer than 24 credits by the application deadline Northeastern will look at your high school GPA and SAT/ACT scores. A 3.3 college GPA is about the minimum required per the website.

@mag3646 The application deadline is April 1st

Does anyone know when the school release its decision?
And is there any one applying to Northeastern - Bouve college of health science

@fingercrossed On the email it says we’ll get our decisions by the 1st of June
